Abstract

This article aims to assess the evolution of management though since age old days of India, when scriptures played a major role in shaping every aspect of the society. Where we are today, are we on the path advised by the great Vedas or are we going astray in the modern world of business and management. A broad literature review of, research papers, books, along and various reports were carried out. A detailed review of literature used was carried out for study of evolution and succession planning in one business community. Key findings include need of going back to the roots, sustainability a major concern, ethical practices and change in the methods of training the family successor. The paper outline the theories advocated by experts in the learnings of scriptures and also in succession planning which are universal in nature and hence can be sued for further exploratory research.
