Attitude of M.Ed. Students Towards ICT Usage

Abstract

This research investigates M.Ed. students’ attitude towards use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching with a focus on gender and locality differences. In the context of the growing role of technology in education the research explores how M.Ed. students perceive and utilize ICT. By utilizing a stratified random sampling method across three divisions in Himachal Pradesh, India, a sample of 87 M.Ed. students from selected colleges participated in research. The required data were gathered through ATUITS developed by Rajasekar (2014). The findings reveal that the overall attitude towards ICT among M.Ed. students is favorable with a mean score of 123.21. Gender-based analysis indicates that female students have a significantly more positive attitude towards ICT compared to male students. However, no significant difference in ICT attitudes was found between students from urban and rural areas. These results suggest successful integration of ICT in teacher education but highlight a need for targeted interventions to address gender disparities
